Luke is the pitmaster of the award-winning Old Virginia Smoke BBQ competition team, Luke brings a wealth of experience and passion for BBQ to the table. In 2016, he earned the title of World BBQ Champion at the World Food Championships, and his impressive track record includes 14 Grand Championships and 23 Reserve Grand Championships. Beyond the competition circuit, Luke operates the Old Virginia Smoke Food Truck and Catering, delighting customers with his culinary creations. He also shares his expertise and love for BBQ through his podcast, "Pitmaster, an Old Virginia Smoke Podcast." We’re excited to have Luke with us as he savors the flavors and creativity of this year's wing entries!

We’re excited to welcome back one of our original Wing-Fest judges, Katie H.! Katie first joined the judging panel at the inaugural Wing-Fest as our resident “kid judge,” and she’s been adding her fresh, flavorful perspective to the event ever since—now three years running!
A lifelong chicken wing enthusiast, Katie's passion for wings was ignited early on, thanks to her upbringing in a family of grill masters. Whether it's tangy, spicy, or sweet, she's always on the lookout for the perfect wing, and more often than not, she discovers it right here at the Building Supply of Manassas Wing Fest.
When she’s not savoring delicious wings, Katie is a dedicated competitive gymnast, flipping her way to success, and an active volunteer, making a positive impact in both her school and community. Her energy and enthusiasm are sure to spice up the judging panel this year—let’s get ready for some wing-tastic fun!



Brian Mitchell
Former Washington Redskins running back, Brian Mitchell Known for his electrifying play on the field, Brian’s contributions to the NFL over his 14-year career are nothing short of legendary.
🍽️ But Brian isn’t just a star athlete; he’s also an incredible cook! When he’s not co-hosting the "B Mitch and Finlay" radio show, you can find him in the kitchen whipping up delicious meals. His passion for food and cooking makes him the perfect judge to help us crown this year’s wing champion!
Brian is an avid cyclist and golfer. If he isn’t grinding at work or spending quality time with his family, you’ll likely catch him on a bike ride or hitting the links. His dedication to balancing an active lifestyle and family time is truly inspiring.
With an impressive legacy that includes holding records for second-highest all-purpose yards and special-teams touchdowns in NFL history, having him at BSM Wingfest brings an exciting blend of sportsmanship and culinary expertise.
Brandon Snydor
Exciting news, everyone! Brandon Snyder is returning as a judge for Wingfest! He’s not just your average baseball coach; he’s an accomplished American baseball coach and a former utility player who played for some fantastic teams!
You might recall Brandon as the bullpen catcher for the Washington Nationals, but he’s also had stints with other impressive teams like the Orioles, Rangers, Red Sox, Braves, and Rays. With all that experience under his belt, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a genuine love for the game!
These days, you’ll find Brandon inspiring young players as the head coach for the Snyders youth baseball team. His commitment to guiding the next wave of baseball stars is truly remarkable!
Brandon's baseball journey began in Virginia at Westfield High School, and he’s certainly come a long way since then! Now, he’s looking forward to some exciting new adventures, especially when it comes to sampling delicious wings!


Colonel Douglas W. Keen
Meet Colonel Douglas W. Keen, the Chief of Police and Assistant City Manager of Manassas, who is trading in his badge for a judging apron at our Wing Festival! With a career that stretches back to 1989, Chief Keen has served in every role imaginable—from officer to detective to the head honcho of the police force. He’s not just a protector of the peace; he’s also a guardian of flavor!
When he’s not busy ensuring public safety or leading a team of over 125 professionals, you might catch him in the kitchen, perfecting his own secret wing sauce. Known for his community involvement and commitment to excellence, he’s ready to bring his leadership skills to the judging table.
George “Papi” Zwetkow
We’re thrilled to welcome back George “Papi” Zwetkow as a judge for this year’s BSM Wingfest! With over 35 years of expertise as a master chef, brewer, vintner, and distiller, Papi brings a wealth of culinary knowledge to our event.
He’s a proud graduate of the Culinary Institute of America whose incredible journey began at Disney's Contemporary Resort. From serving elite clients in New York to being the executive chef at Time Warner's Private Dining Room in Rockefeller Center, his credentials are top-notch!
